Pathway from CIMA to ICAZ

ICAZ and CIMA have entered into an agreement where, after finishing your CIMA qualification, you can proceed to do the ICAZ qualification. You will be exempted from doing the Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) and the Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC), so all you need to do is the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) then you will be done with ICAZ examinations. And eligible to register as a CA(Z).

It will be mandatory for you to do a preparatory course for APC, which is offered online by either Endunamoo or Accounting Professional Training (APT). This takes 8 months to complete. A bridging program will be offered by CBS to prepare you for this.

Please note that there is no requirement for any additional relevant practical experience for you to become a CA(Z). The idea is that since you are already a CIMA member, you have already demonstrated that you are experienced enough to be a member of an accounting professional body.

How do I register?

Please bring copies of your ID, degree certificate and transcript when you come to register. If you do not have your transcript or degree certificate yet you can still start lectures, but you will need to provide these when they are available to be able to complete your registration and write exams.
